Gantt Charts are a very useful tool.
The Gantt Chart is named after Henry Gantt an industrial engineer who introduced the procedure in the early 1900s.
It is a horizontal bar chart that displays the time relationship of various steps in a project.
It has many different applications and is a very useful tool in fundraising events; project activities and even staff recruitment.
List all the steps required to complete the project and estimate the time required to achieve each step. Write the steps down the left side of the chart and the time intervals along the bottom.
Draw a line across the chart for the time required for each step, starting at the planned begining and finishing at the completion date. Activities can overlap in the time line.
It is easy to read and check if you are on course with the steps of the project.
